"In quantum physics, there is such a thing as the observer effect, when the result of an experiment depends on the experimenter. The nature of matter changes its properties, photons of light transform from a wave state into a stream of electron particles, and the same object acquires other, new qualities. In Karina Olginskaya's works, the nature of light seems to be subordinated not to a random visual effect, but to the mysterious, aesthetically balanced idea of the author. Sunlight flashes and goes out the way the artist wants, still lifes gather in a necklace of meanings and unsaid phrases. Each work is a subtle melancholy of objects assembled by an elegant, oriental-scented hand of a dreamer. The light on antique porcelain and crystal is ignited by a spray of sparks, tearing the object out of Rembrandt's shadows, and mysterious shadows hide more unsaid secrets than the lives of their owners. The role of shadows is huge, their enveloping density is one of the author's achievements. Karina's photographs can be compared to the works of Caravaggio, and this sequence of tradition makes the viewer stop in the exhibition space or in a cozy living room and contemplate the silence and gentle sadness in such rare poetic photo paintings in our time."

"In this nervous race, an unquenchable thirst for new things, we are furiously destroying the world we inherited. Being connected to this world and feeling this connection is a rare thing. Karina's still lifes hypnotically immerse us in the world of objects and sensations from some past life, where starched tablecloths, vases with flowers on the morning table, family heirlooms, leisurely admiring the sunlight in a glass, collisions of light and shadows, transforming everything around... And, at the same time, this is a look "from today"- in the conscious alignment of the tempo-rhythm, the non-randomness of the subject range… Her still lifes fascinate with mystery, grace and a nagging sense of loss."

"Our life is objective. We are surrounded by various things all the time on earth...A harmonious person creates a harmonious space around himself, organizes it.When you enter Karina's space, you will feel it immediately. Here, all the items are selected with love, taste and tenderness. They feel good in this caring world. The morning and evening rays caress and enliven them. That's why Karina's desire to allow them to live in her photographic compositions is so close to me.
When I saw the first composition, I was so inspired that I immediately started reproducing it on canvas. This is how a series of still lifes appeared.:"Morning with Karina Olginskaya".
Looking at Karina's works is a great aesthetic pleasure for me, they are related to the poetry of the Silver Age, especially Igor Severyanin...It is a celebration of the beauty and sophistication of existence."
